Brandy L. Goldade | Transportation Assistant | Macomb Intermediate School District

When Brandy L. Goldade’s maintenance job was reduced to a part-time position, she took advantage of an opening for a transportation assistant role at Macomb Intermediate School District. Since 2016, she has continued to excel in her role, in which she assists special needs students from the time they board the bus to the time they arrive at the school or home, monitors students with medical conditions and keeps students calm while on the bus.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Goldade commenced her career as a dog groomer with Camp Bow Wow in St. Clair Shores, Michigan in 2011. The following year, she joined Mr. Kleen Maintenance in Troy, Michigan as a crew member and rose through the ranks to assistant supervisor to day porter until 2015. Simultaneously, in 2015, she had also been an elementary academic tutor at Macomb Community College.

Honored for her efforts in her professional endeavors, Ms. Goldade was notably named Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. She has also received recognition from Who’s Who Among Professional Workers. She attributes her success thus far to putting her all into her work, as she believes that you need to find your passion in order to perform above satisfactorily. She notes, her love for her job even extends to assisting coworkers in the company.

Ms. Goldade earned an Associate of Applied Arts in liberal arts and sciences from Macomb Community College from 2007 and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in human resources. Furthermore, she works as a volunteer in the human resources department to gain familiarity with the work environment in the field, as well as to find out if the profession is her right fit. Additionally, she is certified annually in nursing programs.
